US Dept of Education
Back in 1980 there were several different agencies within the federal government that worked hard together to create the US Dept of Education. The development of this department has been invaluable and the department has worked hard to support and promote education throughout the entire country. There are more than 4000 workers that are employed by the US Dept of Education and their budget is more than 70 billion. The following are a few of the important goals of this Department of Education in the United States.
Goal #1 – Equality in Education – First of all, the US Dept of Education has a goal of making sure that there is equality in education. They work to get rid of bias in education that may get in the way of education for some people. Everyone has the right to get a great education and this department works to make sure that everyone has equal access to the education that they need and deserve.
Goal #2 – Encourage Awareness of Education Issues that are Important – Another goal of the US Dept of Education is to encourage the awareness of education issues that may arise. They work right along with the press to make sure that a good education is encouraged. A variety of different publications, articles, and other types of texts are released to encourage people to get a good education.
Goal #3 – Create Financial Aid Policies – The financial aid policies in this country are created and upheld by the US Dept of Education as well. They work with the laws that surround financial aid and work to provide aid to those who need it to further education.
Goal #4 – Distribute Funds for Education – The US Dept of Education also is responsible for distributing the funds that are set aside for financial aid for education. They are the ones who distribute student loans, scholarships, grants, and other types of financial aid.
