Social Science Degree

Courses can also teach students how to analyze information and write persuasive papers, research sources, conduct proper interviews and make hypotheses. Many graduate programs will require a student to specialize in disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, history or other subjects. Many of the available job opportunities for those with a social science degree are in the academia or government.

One job for those with a social science degree is as a sociologist. Many of these individuals work for the government or public bodies of education along with lawmakers and criminologists. These people will study organizations, social institutions and the behavior of groups so that the human social behavior can be better understood along with its development and influences. Political parties will often hire sociologists in order to plan their political and governmental policies. Sociologists can be employed at universities as researchers and professors.

Another job for those with a social science degree is as an anthropologist. These people study the behavior of humans in a variety of settings including the physical, social and culture developments of groups of humans. Many anthropologists will specialize in modern societies studying groups in both the urban and rural settings in order to expand knowledge of political and social policies. However, many job opportunities are also confined to government and academic work.
