School Furniture

When setting up a school there is no way around the fact that you’re going to need school furniture. When picking out school furniture you need to have a firm grasp on the age of students the furniture will be used by as well as the funding you have to buy the school furniture. If you wish to have all your school furniture made of wood your looking at spending quite a bit more but gives the classrooms a warmer more relaxing feel which could be good for the students. A down side school furniture made of wood is that it’s easy to scratch and kids tend to carve into them quite often, a small benefit is that the wood can be sanded down and refinished to remove this, so in a sense the weakness of the wood is also the benefit of the wood.

Plastic school furniture is another route that can be taken. Plastic school furniture doesn’t give off the calming warm fooling as wood does but it can be more durable then wood. Pl;astic is harder for a student to scratch into and is more resistant to being written on as well. But of plastic school furniture is carved into you can’t simply sand it down tro remove it, the whole unit would have to be replaced. One positive feature of plastic school furniture is that the seats can be easily molded and tend to have a little give to them making them a bit more comfortable then the wood.

Aside from the wood and plastic the metal route can also be taken. Generaly metal school furniture consists mainly of just the seating, a benefit is that folding metal chairs can be stacked and stored away without tasking up much space. The downside is they tend to be the least comfortable of the choices and always tend to be cold.
