Online Learning Education

Online learning education is now a very popular and viable option for many people in the United States and all over the world.  Online learning education affords students to receive a quality education from accredited schools all over the world in just about any field imaginable. 

There are many benefits to online learning education for the distant learner.  Online learning education affords the student to take courses at his/her own pace.  Students can either take as much time, as they need to complete their class work or can finish as quickly as possible to accelerate their degree program.  Many students appreciate that they can take courses either to obtain a degree or just to satiate an interest or desire for learning.  Another benefit of online learning education is that students are grouped with other online students with many opportunities to form lasting friendships, study groups, and communities for homework help, general chat, or group graded projects.  Also, because there is no physical encounter between teachers and students, many schools require that their instructors answer all students’ questions and requests for assistance within 24 hours or sooner.  Many instructors will even give students email addresses, office and cell phone numbers to make themselves more readily available to their students.

There are also some drawbacks to online learning education as well.  For example, the cost of tuition for an online learning education program is usually as expensive or more expensive than attending a physical school campus.  So it may be worth it to someone to go to campus if living near by.  Another drawback is the lack of personal attention.  The instructors may be very readily available but without meeting the student and witnessing how the student learns best, the instructor can only really be expected to give very general information.  People who are hands-on learners or who cannot focus well on their own should not attend an online learning education program.
