Online College Classes
With the increasing number of students enrolled in online college classes either due to financial constraints or time clashes with jobs, it is inevitable that you appear for quizzes and exams for your online college classes as well.
At first thought, this may sound like a piece of cake; you have to give the exam on your own time in your own home without a teacher breathing down your neck and without worrying about the concept of cheating. However, hold your train of thought right there because it isn’t as easy as it sounds. If all online college classes exams were easy enough to cheat on at home, accredited colleges and institutions would not be handing out degrees left, right and center.
Fool-Proof System
The system is so designed that it is very difficult to cheat on online college class exams and this is because they usually have very strict time limits. The exams are usually open-book exams which mean that you can have the text open in front of you. Knowing where the answer is and finding it in the right amount of time is what you are being tested upon. Learning from memory or rote learning is usually not emphasized in online college classes. Applying your knowledge is what is important; you will have text books with you even after you graduate – learning how to use the textbooks is the key to success.
At times even if the exam is open-book, the question is so focused on applying concepts that having the book or not does not really make a difference. Or in other cases, the multiple choice questions on a particular online college class exam may be so tricky with all the choices looking so similar, that sifting through a voluminous text book may actually be eating up your time.
Online college class exams have strict time periods in which you have to appear for the exam. From the moment you log in your time starts; fumbling around or taking it easy will not help. Whether you use your text or do not use it; either way how you fare on your exam will depend on how much you have understood a concept not if a teacher is invigilating you or not.
