New York Continuing Education

With so many strict and difficult academic requirements, it is no wonder that New York state is at the forefront of quality education for not only school aged children, but for adults who wish to continue their education after a lapse in formal classroom study. 

New York continuing education programs are among the most revered in the nation because of their accessibility, range of available programs, tuition assistance and income based enrollment programs.  Of the many programs, the most recognizable New York continuing education program is the Education Opportunity Centers program or EOC.  This program provides counseling and information on college admissions to qualified adults who want to enter or continue a program of postsecondary education after a lapse in formal educational study or due to familial and income restrictions with a final goal of raiding the number of enrolled adults into postsecondary educational programs. 

Because of the growing number of adults who wish to enroll in educational programs as a result of a stagnant economy, desire to achieve success and to provide a financial future for retirement and postsecondary school options for children, New York continuing education programs have been popularized in many prestigious schools all over the state as well.  Columbia University in New York City for example, has an entire school dedicated to continuing adult education inclusive of bachelor programs and master’s degree programs.  New York continuing education programs are also popular within the State University of New York or (SUNY) system in which special programs have been implemented for adults continuing education both on campus or on-line.  State University of New York campuses have recently spent millions of dollars on television campaigns to lure perspective students into their doors for degree and certification programs boasting high acceptance rates and even higher post graduation job placement, both very attractive incentives.
