Medical Schools
There are hundreds of medical schools in the United States. A medical school or faculty of medicine is a tertiary educational institution or part of an institution that teaches medicine. In order to become a doctor you must fulfill major requirements. There are some medical schools that offer Masters degree programs, doctor of philosophy programs, and also other education programs. There are endless opportunities a person can have when going to medical school. In most cases, people choose to go to medical school because of their love for ther people. They want to help and make a difference in others lives. Many doctors get a joy and satisfaction helping others in need.
Some medical schools also employ a medical research team. This often happens when a school operates hospitals or other programs within it. Different subjects that a participate of medical schools may learn is human anatomy, biochemistry, human biology, immunology, neurobiology, and genetics. Getting into medical school is often times highly competitive. The entry criteria, structure and teaching methods vary from school to school, and the more elite a school is, the more difficult it is to get in it. Usually ones who are accepted to medical school have to pass standardized entrance examinations. Some examinations that must be passed are the MCAT’s, BMAT’, GAMSAT’s, and many others.
Even though a medical school graduate may receive the Doctor of Medicine title, a doctor may not legally be able to practice medicine until he is licensed by a government authority. In order to be licensed, it may also require passing a test, undergoing a criminal background check, checking references, and paying fees. With time and patience, if you desire to go to medical school you will be able to do the means necessary to complete your programs and gain licensure for your career.
