Learning Centers

Children have a number of different academic challenges to overcome, especially if they have a learning disability, emotional issues, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, developmental delays or even the desire to get ahead or need to prepare for college entrance exams. Learning centers can help your child get the supplemental instruction he or she needs to succeed in their studies.

Learning centers will conduct individual testing for each child to pinpoint the problem areas where they need the most instruction. Some students have dyslexia and need specialized attention to learn how to read while others need help unlocking the mysteries of Algebra. This testing will help the tutors at these centers create an individual study program that best fits the learning style and needs of your child.

Teachers have special roles as do the parents in this supplemental instruction at learning centers but the kids also must take ownership as well. Once children start understanding more and realize some success, most of them get excited again about learning and tackling that next educational challenge.

Learning centers typically start with children in kindergarten, age 5 all the way through high school. All tutors are certified to teach the individual subjects that your child needs help with. As time goes on, your child will again be evaluated to see how much he or she has learned as well as to modify the instructional curriculum to adjust to what they have learned and accomplished.

Education is a constant process and no one ever really stops learning. That is why learning centers are always on the lookout for the latest innovations in teaching as well as new tricks and helpful hints to help children develop their own learning style. This helps foster a sense of independence in their work so that when they finally tackle their learning problems and no longer need supplemental instruction, they will be well prepared to work on their own without the guidance of the learning centers.
